The Camden-Rockport Historical Society seeks to tell the story of the natural, social, political, cultural, and economic history of the Camden and Rockport communities from the earliest times to the present. We tell this story primarily through the display of objects that relate to the daily life and activities that have occurred in this area, and we also maintain a large archive of books, maps, documents, photographs, clothing, and other materials that are accessible for research purposes. We take care to avoid duplication of collections housed in other institutions.
We are always interested in acquiring new material that illustrates the history of our area. Items should have a clear connection to the area; add, rather than duplicate, items currently in our collection and be in display condition. If you are interested in donating an item to the Camden-Rockport Historical Society, please review our Collections Policy. You may then contact us at camdenrockportme@gmail.com and we will be glad to discuss your proposed gift with you.
CatologIt is the historical society’s main digital database. We are constantly adding to our virtual collection. https://hub.catalogit.app/5028
