SUMMARY:History Camp!
DESCRIPTION:This summer at the Homestead\, we will be introducing young 
 learners to what life was like as a Colonial settler with our Homestead 
 History Program. This pilot program will be a “trip back in time” im
 mersion in hands-on exploration and learning about life in the 18th cent
 ury.\n\n\n\nThis immersive program is one week long\, from 9 to 12:30 da
 ily. The program is offered for ages 7-12 and cost is $200 per child:\n\
 n\n\nJune 27 - July1July 11 - 15August 1 - 5\n\n\n\nOn Friday\, families
  are invited to share in the experience while their children offer them 
 a tour\, a short demonstration of skills mastered\, and delicious refres
 hments.\n\n\n\nActivities may include :\n\n\n\nLearn to write with a qui
 ll pen and make their own inkLearn about cooking over an open hearthDeve
 lop skills in making textiles\, including wool carding and spinning\, we
 aving nets\, etc.All about water! Experience dowsing techniques\, haul w
 ater for cleaning and cooking\, do laundry without modern technology.Lea
 rn about 18th century games\, and how to play them.Develop skills in hom
 estead crafts and use those skills to create things that they can take h
